Basketball Update

Just a quick update on the CVHAA Basketball team. We are 5-3 and one of those losses was against Miller School in Charlottesville. Miller's starting 5 is so good that all of them are going to play D1 basketball somewhere. Two have already committed to D1 schools, one to Kansas and the other to Georgetown. 4 games left before Christmas. After Christmas we play in a tournament in which there are 2 defending state championship teams in the state of VA. So we have had a good start to the year, hopefully culminating with a HSPN championship in March.

Basketball Season 2011-2012

Yes I know that it is not March yet and most of my posts regarding basketball are in March. Nevertheless, it is time for the 2011-2012 season to start. This weekend we are going to Greensboro NC to play in the NCHEAC Preseason Tip-Off Tournament. We won the tournament last year in our first year going to the tournament. I will try and update after our games.

Thinking

A few days ago, Friday to be exact, I was trying to go to sleep and I couldn't and then it just hit me in 12 days my high school soccer career would be over. This is my last season playing with the CVHAA Patriot soccer team and its just been fun. We are in the hunt for a championship that we haven't won in 3 or 4 years, seems like forever to me, we finally beat Banner and Spirit in the same season, and I just want to end this season on a high note. So as you can tell I am a high school senior this year and will hopefully be going to college somewhere in the fall of next year, that's the plan right now but God could have other plans. But it just seems like yesterday that I was playing U-8 soccer in Hopewell learning how to kick a soccer ball. I don't really know why I am posting this but it was just something that I felt like that I needed to share.

This Week

Ok this week has been really weird here in VA. On Tuesdays at 1:51 PM there was a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Mineral, VA. We felt here at our house and it was felt all the way up to Rhode Island, all the way west to Ohio, and all the way down into Georgia. Then there was this huge line of thunderstorms that went through our area on Thursday night. Now this weekend we are getting ready to get pounded by a Hurricane. All I can say that all of this weird weather will only get worse as Jesus' return gets closer. USA and Spanish

Ok this is a venting post. I was just looking through the coupons that we get every week and I was on the next to last page. Then I saw it a Gain ad for their cleaning stuff(I think that's what they sell) It started off well with their slogan for that particular ad in English. Then right below it was the same slogan, I assume it was the same slogan, in Spanish. Ok so if we are going to put our ads in English and Spanish and cater to the Hispanic community why don't we do the same for the Germans and Chinese and Japanese and Russian and every other people group. We don't have to do that because they actually learn the English language. So my solution to this problem is to make English the official language of the USA and require that when people do business or are in traffic court they should be required by law to speak English. So what do you, the ones and ones of people who read this blog think. Let me know it the comment section. Should English be made the official language of the US?

My Week

I don't know why but I am always a little depressed when I get home/leave the beach. Yeah its good to be home but I really like the beach. So my week has been pretty simple. Get up, eat, go to the beach, eat, go to the beach, shower, eat, watch a mob movie on AMC or Shark Week on Discovery, sleep, and repeat. Add in a round of putt-putt and golf  in the middle of the week and that's how I spent my week. On Sunday we went to the Channel Marker just inside AB(short for Atlantic Beach) and I had the best Shrimp Alfredo ever. On Monday I dug a really big hole on the beach. It was about 3 ft deep and 2-4 ft wide. It might have been a little bigger if my shovel hadn't broke, that was the 2nd one that I had broken in the two days we had been there. On Friday we rented some Jet skis for an hour and rode them up and down the Sound in between Morehead City and AB. Now we are back at home. So that's been my week.

Beach

Sup my People.
I believe that I am at the most wonderful place this side of heaven. THE BEACH!!!!!!! Got here last night at 2:30 in the AM on Sunday. Spent today going to church and laying around and going to the beach. Time for some more R & R.

Traffic Court

Ok, yesterday we had to go to traffic court in Prince George County because we were in an accident in March. As we are waiting our case to be called there were others in the court room because of tickets and such. One of the ones that were called to face the judge before us was a Hispanic man who needed a translator to know what the judge was saying. Those of you who know me know that I can't stand to hear anyone in America speaking another language, unless they are here on vacation or something like that. Once someone becomes a citizen they should be required to learn the American language so they can communicate without a translator. So the case went on and I overheard someone, I think it was the judge, say that the man was not a U.S. citizen. This made me even more perturbed because instead of deporting the man the judge apparently ignored the fact all together and just gave him a fine. If I were the judge that man and his family, he apparently had a wife and 4 kids, would be on the first plane out of here back to what ever country he had come from. Now I know that the immigration policy that America has is a little broken and that there has to be a more easier way for people to get their citizenship, but if people just come here to work and live without becoming a citizen they should not be allowed to live in this country. I can only think of some instances hear in Central Virginia in which people have been killed because of drunk ILLEGAL,in the case of immigration apparently illegal doesn't mean what the word actually means, Immigrants. If the US had a better way to deport these individuals then I believe that this country would be a whole lot better.

Going Home Tomorrow

Well the Homeschool World Series is over. CVHAA lost today 10-0 to the Crown Athletic Knights. This ends a remarkable tournament by the Patriots who exceed all of my expectations to finish 6th. Good bye Florida its been great.
Y'all in Virginia see you sometime next week. Some in NC maybe see you tomorrow. Finally to all the mothers out there thanks for all that y'all do. I know that y'all don't get thanked enough. So thanks and happy mothers day, a day early.

Losers Bracket Semifinals

Sup y'all
Yesterday the Patriots played against a team from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Patriots rebounded nicely from their heartbreaking loss to the Raleigh Warriors, winning 8-2. CVHAA plays in about 1 hour for 5th place in the whole Homeschool World Series.

Next Two Games

Sorry about being so long between posts. Yesterday the Patriots played two games, the first against the 7 or 8, can't remember how many, time champions Gwinett County Barons. The Patriots won the game 8-1 behind a more than steller pitching performence by John Booker. In the night cap CVHAA played the Raleigh Warriors, a team that had already beat them once 3-2 earlier in the year. The Patriots used a 6th inning rally to score 3 runs to tie the score at 5. In the 8th the warroirs scored once to get the win at 6-5. CVHAA plays again today at 2 PM. The best they can finish now is 5th with the worse they can finish being 8th.

Game #3

Sup Peeps,
The patriots won their 3rd game this afternoon by a score of 11-10. Jake Wagner hit a bases loaded walkoff single with one out in the 7th inning to win the game. In the top of the 7th the team from Atlanta scored 6 times to go up by one. That lead only lasted for about 15 minutes. At this time we know that they play again on Thursday just don't know what time. It will either by 11:30 am or 2:00 pm, I think.

Wassup my people,
Just wanted to let yall know that the CVHAA Patriots lost thier first game of the Homeschool World Series 9-7. They play again tomorrow at 9:00 am. The Patriots played good but a couple of baserunning blunders cost them in the end. Look for a post tomorrow at some time.

I Want Football and a New Draft Pick

This post is mainly a venting session. I would love to see the football season to start on time this year. Why? Because #1 Minnesota opens with San Diego and #2 if football doesn't happen what am I supposed to sleep through on a Sunday afternoon? Yesterday the NFL Draft 1st round happend and Minnesota picked Christain Ponder from Florida State. I see two things wrong with this pick. #1 He went to FSU and I don't really like FSU since I'm a NC State fan, although my favorite memory of Ponder was on Thursday October 28. After NC State took a 28-24 lead FSU drove all the way down the field to the NC State 4. Ponder called a play action pass, but extended the ball out too far and the Running Back hit the ball and it popped loose and Nate Irving pounced on the ball to secure the Wolfpack win. #2 Ponder got hurt late last year with a concussion and hasn't played since. I'm just saying Minnesota you really goofed up on your draft pick this year. Hopefully next February I will be retracting these statements.

Last game of the year

Just to let yall know, we finished 3rd at HSPN with a 20 point win over Greenville Homeschool. So it was a little depressing on Monday not having basketball practice. So now its time to start preparing for our title run next year.

i write tonight with a heavy heart and a very very crappy feeling in my gut. we won the first game by 13 against the Cincinnati trailblazers. we just finished playing the Augusta eagles and lost by one, 49-48. this is retarded. we are the best homeschool team in the state of VA. dumb. we have another game tomorrow afternoon sometime.

1st 2 games, and sorry about the wait

Sorry about not posting before now the internet here is kinda crazy. Don't have long to post, but we won our 1st two games 82-9 over New Life Storm, yes 9. We beat CHEN Chargers 78-23 in the afternoon game. We play again at 3:45 against the 2-0 Cincinnattti Trailblazers, who also has a 42 point differential.

We Are the Champions My Friends...

Just wanted to let everyone who reads this, I know that its a very very minuscule number, that the CVHAA Patriots varsity basketball team is the VCAA regular season and tournament champions. This is the first year in our history that we have won the Regular Season and the first year that we have won the Tournament title.
I will put some pics on here in the near future.
